Laura Hinnekens

“I really love helping people reach their goals and seeing them thrive”.

Laura was born in Bruxelles (Brussels), Belgium. Although she spent her childhood in the city, she was always fascinated by animals and when she was old enough, she moved to the countryside.

She studied a few years of Veterinary and graduated in Agronomy with Option Management and Agricultural Techniques.

After working with horses for many years in her teens, Laura started to work with sheep. And it all started there.

Following graduation, she moved to Scotland where she had already spent some time on sheep farms as an apprentice. Initially an employee shepherdess, Laura very quickly chose to became elf-employed, which enabled her to learn many different farming methods. It also gave her the chance to improve her sheep dog training skills, which then led to her teaching these skills across Europe, America and Canada.

A brilliant opportunity came up and Laura started her own flock of Cheviots and Cheviot mules in Quothquan, Biggar. Laura now farms a flock of 500 ewes.

Along with her own stock, Laura managed to secure a contract hill farm that she had to let go once Euan and her purchased a 50 acre farm in Auchengray.
